Lessons from Prannoy Roy

Prannoy Roy interviewed Bill Gates and it will surely be remebered for a long time. Roy conducted the interview with aplomb. No Indian journalist could have been so cool, calm, composed and erudite as Roy. Both the distinguished guests Gates and Murthy freely chatted and it was a viewer's delight.
On one hand you have Roy, the real pioneer of electronic media. And just see the other side--the apish grin of Prabhu Chawla in his Seedhi Baat on the AjTak that shamelessly claims to be the best channel of the country. Oh my god, the irritating and disgusting Chawla. God save us from us this Chawla.

Credit to India TV

Rajat Sharma's India TV is now making its presence felt. No longer just for titillating clips of politicians having sex with women, but for serious journalism.
The reports of torture in custody including that of a man whose testes were singed by Mumbai police and the teenager who was hung by a tree in Gaya and beaten up for eloping with a girl have been astonishing.
Apart from this the quality of questions asked by its anchors is much better than Ajtak, Zee, Sahara and even Star. Only NDTV is ahead on this count.
