NDTV's story on DPS school & Kashmir Scandal

Sunetra Choudhury did a story on a girl, Garima, who secured 97.6% marks in X but was refused admission by Delhi Public School (DPS) just because she was not fluent in English or rather her accent was not in sync with the Upper Middle Class students.

The story was wonderful. It exposes the shameful attitude of the principal of a well-known school and the mindset of the so-called elite. Seems they are all busy raising their cults, no poor or lower class should enter their institutes of 'excellence' as this may corrupt their environment.

Meanwhile, the electronic media does a lot of good things as well. The stories on J & K sex scandal are surely having impact. While the court would take care of the accused and hopefully send them to jail, the ministers, Mattu and Meer were shown again and again.

However thick-skinned they may be, this kind of 'publicity' would surely kill their political career. Print media is always over-cautious and denials are easy but these images would surely haunt them for the rest of their lives.
