Veteran journo Uday Sinha was 'privileged' enough to meet Bush--we all know. The Bhaskar had been tom-tomming that it was the sole Hindi paper whose correspondent went to Washington to interview Dubya.
So what we had on page 1. Mr Sinha wrote...'Ek ajeeb see ghabrahat thee...duniya ke sabse shaktishaali vyakti ke saath hone ke romaanch se dil dugni raftaar se dhadak raha tha....aise lamhe bohot kam hote hain jab ek dhruvia dunia ke sabse shaktishali rajneta ke sakshaatkar ka mauqa mile....apne akhbar ki pratishtha akshun rakhne ki zimmedari thi magar andar se udwelit tha....etc etc
This went on and on. (Though this report did not feature in DNA where also Uday Sinha's story was carried)
Don't remember when read such a khushamad in a page 1 article. So he was excited, ok, but had tough times in controlling his heartbeats, knew he was meeting the most powerful leader of the unipolar world. Chaploosi ki had hai! Pair kyon nahin chhue Sinha sahab. You could have said it was our culture and touched his feet as well! Even a cub reporter wouldn't write such a piece. But I must laud your conviction, you said it all in your article. Kudos for giving vent to your true emotions.
