This one is surely in a very bad taste even by Bal Thackeray's standards. In a rally in Mumbai, Thackeray first said that Kalam can't see clearly because of the hair in front of his eyes.
He reportedly went on to say that Kalam can see only the 'Chaand and Taara' (Crescent and Star). The Shiv Sena supremo was referring to the plea for mercy from the kin of Parliament attack accused Afzal Guru.
The party mouthpiece Samna editor later said Thackeray has been a cartoonist and his comments should be taken as a 'vyangya'. The octogenarian politician has been a rabble-rouser all his life and has created wedge in the society all through his political life. He had instigated Marathis against South Indians, then Muslims and later its campaign against North Indians.
