Seems news channels have made Dawood a completely separate beat apart from the main crime. Every couple of days you have either a package on D company or something else pertaining to the past of the gangster.
Now the day Dawood's nephew died in an accident in Mumbai, Star TV was showing the family tree of the 'illustrious' family. Sheela Raval seems to have become Editor (Dawood) at Star while the same designation must be of Deepak Sharma in the Ajtak!
Almost every alternative I find some story on the D group in any of the channels including Channel 7, India TV and the numerous others.
Even bizarre was the story in which the Star TV 'broke' the news that a film on Salem may have either of the three Khans. They tried to showcase Amir, Salman and Shahrukh Khan in the get up of Abu Salem. Bravo! What an imagination.
Seems soon there will be separate beats to cover all gangsters including Abu Salem, Chhota Rajan and all in every channel. Editor (Salem), Editor (Chhota Rajan) and Editor (Shakeel). After all, one needs to just get hold of the dossier on the gangster and a few other informations from old stories available on the net. If you have a couple of sleuths who can tip you right or wrong info then you are just the ideal person for the job. Ironically gangsters and scounders have also been turned into celebrities thanks to this overzealous electronic media.
