A friend asked me why media didn't touch the Shivani case while doing stories on Pramod Mahajan. He said that several things related to Mahajan and the shady deals that could have been taken up were not discussed. Is it because we are sentimental and in his moment of agony these stories were better avoided.
Also, he said the fact Vinay Katiyar was annihilated did not get the adequate mention in Sonia's resounding win. I also agree. BJP seems to have a hobby to kill whatever mass-base leaders it has. So Katiyar was pitted against Sonia and got even 1/3rd of the Samajwadi Party candidate. This aspect of how Katiyar in his homestate lost an election so badly needed comprehensive analysis. But as usual channels were busy showing 10 Janpath, Celebrations, the Manmohan lookalike etc.
