Mid Day expansion, going to Bangalore
Mid Day is going to launch its Mumbai edition soon. Good news because there is scope for eveningers/afternoon papers in India but we have no quality paper with a great circulation in any big city except ofcourse Mid Day Mumbai.
Even in Hindi there is no multiple-edition evening newspaper. It will be at least a month before the paper would hit the stands. Exchange4media.com's Noor Fathima Warsia reports that Mid Day group is studying the potential of evening newspapers in other cities and might go for launches in three cities in next three years.

Agencyfaqs.com did a story on the same, some 2 months ago...
big effing deal. mid day, in fact, had a bangalore (and pune) edition not very many centuries ago. but then they ran out of wits on how to sell that bhelpuri of a newspaper in any city where people don't travel for hours on crammed local trains that give them little option but to read newspapers that are "compact", as the industry puts it these days.
the paper should leave such ideas to other papers, and instead toy with how to keep changing its masthead. here are a few, and just since 2000: MIDDAY, to MID-DAY, followed by Mid Day, and now MiD DAY.
Well as far as this news is concerned I think it's incomplete, as it's missing out on the fact that Mid day is coming up with a radio station in Bangalore.
